Maintenance - keeping your website going

Typically, Websitecraft will carry out the following activities:

  • maintain access permissions for all website functions in line with agreed responsibilities;
  • systems administration such as database administration, backups/restores, security controls and performance monitoring (server and Websitecraft premises);
  • regular checks (and necessary actions) to avoid link rot, lapses in W3C compliance etc;
  • test within new and relevant environments as they emerge such as new browsers, operating systems, database versions and php versions;
  • maintain controls over content (such as editor settings and style definitions) in line with agreed content standards;
  • upgrades to third party software (with associated testing and roll out of new features);
  • defect resolution (logging, investigation and finding/implementing solutions and/or work-arounds);
  • manage hosting, software licences, SSL certificates and keys;
  • maintenance of the Management Plan and publication of reports;
  • writing and maintenance of design and test documentation.
